Comic Potential is set in the foreseeable future when everything has changed except human nature ........
Idealistic writer, Adam Transmith, is given the opportunity to work with Chandler Tate, Adam's hero who used to direct comedy films. Chandler has fallen on hard times though and is now reduced to daytime soaps - and not even with real actors, with actoids! Android actors programmed to perform any emotion, but of course with no emotions of their own. Then Adam finds the exception, “Jacie”, an actoid with a genuine sense of humour and they plan to make a good, old fashioned comedy together. Of course they soon discover they have more in common than the ability to find a custard pie in someone's face funny and it seems everyone is out to get them.

This clever, romantic comedy is an ideal valentine’s week evening out performed by innovative local theatre company, EXIT Theatre Co-op. Ayckbourn presents both hilarious farce and smart dialogue, nicely combining the two in this poignant and very entertaining piece where “falling off the back of a lorry” has a whole new meaning. Simply not to be missed!
