M*A*S*H4th-6th December 2003 at the Braithwaite, Croydon Clocktower
In December 2003 EXIT presented a production of Richard Hooker's funny and touching "M*A*S*H". Fot those of you that don't know, M*A*S*H is a story about a group of Mobile Army Surgeons stationed in Korea during the Korean War. The first M*A*S*H book was written by Dr. Richard Hornberger (under the pseudonym Richard Hooker in 1968 and was an instant hit. The book was then made into a movie in 1970 starring Elliot Gould, Donald Sutherland and Sally Kellerman and was equally successfull, with anti-Vietnam sentiment running high at the time. Then came a hit Television series starring Alan Alda, which lasted 11 years with 251 episodes and won countless awards.
M*A*S*H was a very ambitious production for EXIT to stage with a cast of some 20 plus, and we made it into a full scale event with Army vehicle enthusiasts' involvement as well as other local groups and organisations. With classis, well-known characters such as ; Hawkeye, Trapper, Duke, Radar, Klinger and Hotlips and a fantastically funny script, how could we go wrong?
